Newsletter from Karl and Mary Badalian – July and August, 2020

It sure has been an interesting couple of months. We were at home in Missouri in July when I got sick; “Covid” they said. This kept us at home with me doing a lot of laying in bed.

Our next slow down happened when the truck’s transmission acted up while I was towing our RV trailer to get new tires. During the process of getting the transmission diagnosed we had a few days to go help with plumbing and drywall at Preach Evangelistic Ministry in Seymour Missouri.

Leaving our truck and trailer in Missouri we traveled to Landis North Carolina in our car where we met fellow NTCP workers David and Sharyn Finley to work at Chapel Street Baptist Church. Due to an extensive and structurally necessary remodel of their chapel, the congregation has been meeting in a fellowship hall for several months. While there we painted the sanctuary ceiling and walls then laid 100 year old Maple tongue and groove flooring on the platform that had been repurposed from a skating rink. We installed ceiling lights, painted trim and trimmed out the windows in the sanctuary, cutting sills for them out of inch thick slate and also did a slate top for the sound booth. Our last two days we completed a nice stone accent on the front of the building.

It was a pleasure being in Landis, getting to know Pastor Jenkins and his family better, and also getting to meet and fellowship with the congregation. It was an encouraging time of service as Pastor Jenkins and others from the church worked beside us every day to get their sanctuary closer to completion.

Please pray for us as we have returned to Missouri for our truck, tools and trailer and will be heading to New Hampshire and Maine on September 8th

Future Plans: Our plans include going to Jay Maine then to Granite State Baptist Church in Concord New Hampshire. Of course what the Lord has in store for us is always better than anything we could imagine.
